Brent Blake

I have always been fascinated by drums and drummers. My parents bought a "real" drum for me from Sears when I was five years old. At about age 12, I began taking rudimental drum lessons followed by jazz lessons during high school years. In spite of being taught proper technique, I only wanted to play rock and roll music. After having played with various bands in the Tulsa area during the mid 1960's, I thought my drumming days were behind me.

I sold my drums to finance another passion and did not touch drumsticks for 20 years. When our youngest daughter showed an interest in learning the drums at age seven, I bought her a drum kit and enrolled her in lessons.

Before long, I was hooked again and discovered the fun of playing with other former musicians. That epiphany occurred almost 20 years ago and now I'm privileged to be playing a variety of musical styles with Spirit's Wind."
